Recording USB Audio

USB mics are a great way to record simple audio. Here's how to do it:

  1. Open Adobe Premier Pro with an existing or new document (the video settings really don't matter, because we will only be outputting audio).
  2. Click the "audio mixer" tab somewhere near the top center.
  3. Make sure the microphone icon is red. If not, click on it.
  4. Click the record icon (this doesn't actually start the recording).
  5. Click the play icon (this will start the recording).
There are a lot of other little things that you can do with the audio here, but these are the basics to help you get recording.

Gathering Announcements

The primary function of RDN is to get announcements out to students in a timely manner. In order to do this, we need to begin our preparations for broadcast by collecting all of the information that needs to be announce that day. There are many sources where we can look for announcements:

  • Submitted Announcements: Teachers and staff are encouraged to submit announcements via an online form. See Nic for a printout of these announcements.
  • Daily Bulletin: On the schools website, click "Bulletin/RDN Announcements," the click "Bulletin" to retrieve information from the daily bulletin.
  • Announcement Board: We will post announcements such as sport schedules, lunch menus, etc. on the announcement board.
  • Friends: You and your friends often know much more about what's going on around here than I do. Spread the word.
  • Posters: There are always posters around the halls advertising events, walk around and see what's going on.
  • Anywhere Else!!!
